To keep consistency throughout the typeface, where possible each letterform will be built up from these elements, same width for each stem and bowl and using the either the large or small dots for the ears depending on how it sits with the rest of the letterform.

Initial letters:

Working with different sizes for the stem of the letter until i found one that sat right, then the width of this stem could be applied throughout the whole typeface

Experimenting with the letter G, trying to incorporate the ear with a unique contemporary style of G
